We moved back to our old May date in 2025, and kept it for 2026, with a rain date two weeks later. Thanks to Cresskill for the location! We had sunny skies for most of the day, but it was a bit chilly.

corvettes

We had over twenty pre-registered cars, around fifty day-of-show entries, and twenty of our own members’ cars; most were classics, older than 25 years, with some modern cars including Ferraris, Corvettes, and Jaguars.

Our MC talked about the two featured cars, both 1956 models hitting their 70th year: a Plymouth Belvedere and a Dodge Royal Lancer. They were similar in technology and design, differing mainly in engines, styling, standard features, and options—and the Dodge was a little bigger.

Spectators have come in for free since we moved to Cresskill, enjoying the cars, trivia contests, featured-car talks, food truck, and just chatting with the cars’ owners.

We also had five vendors, as well as Cresskill CARES, the target charity for 2026.

In addition to restored and survivor cars, we had a number of modified and “restomod” cars and trucks. The British were out in force, with reps from Triumph, MG, and Jaguar.

challenger

Pete Doll led the trivia contest and made announcements between Steve Calandra’s tunes. The American Legion’s 50-50 had a lucky cash winner.

The modern and the vintage mixed; the show is still classic-heavy, with quite a good representation from the generator-and-6V days.

Our next show is coming in 2027.

We are currently planning our 2027 show!

2026 Trophies

To win a trophy, the car owner must be present for the awards ceremony. Rusty Relics and American Legion members are not eligible.

Memorials

Helen and Richie Helwig and George Lewer were longtime members of the Rusty Relics. They inspired a great deal of respect and friendship right to their final days. Helen ran the Rusty Recorder and parades until her final year. Richie remained our auctioneer and George was route master and often first in, last out—always doing what was needed.
